For being a kaiju from negative origins, he certainly has a following through the years.

Also, I’m well aware of his trademark situation behind him. Godzilla 1998, and Zilla are “technically” separate characters.
However given outsource media tends to give Zilla the same origins as G98, and use his design then really if toho doesn’t care, why should I?
