Chairman of NDC in the North East Region, Hon. Alhaji Ibrahim Tanko, has assured the Paramount Chief of Bunkpurugu Traditional area that , development for the region will affect all the 6 districts. Chairman Tanko , was speaking at the chief palace Bunkpurugu.

On Thursday, October 3rd , 2024 , President John Dramani Mahama visited the Bunkpurugu-Nakpanduri District as part of his campaign tour in North East Region . He first paid a curtesy call on the paramount chief of Nakpanduri Traditional area, BAT. David Kansuk Laar , with a later engagements with the people of Nakpanduri at the market side , he proceeded his tour to Bunkpurugu-the District capital where he paid an honor visit to the paramount chief of Bunkpurugu traditional area ,inclduing Queen mothers , Mangazias and sub-chiefs . President Mahama ended his tour in the area at the Bunkpurugu Lorry Park where an overwhelming crowed had waited for him several hours.

President John Dramani Mahama was accompanied from the National Level by his campaign Coordinator Professor Joshua Alabi , Mr. Julius Debrah -Former Chief of Staff , Dr. Calestus Mahama, Lawyer Beatrice Annan-Spokes Person of National Campaign Team, Nana Aba, Chamba Isaac Gberuk , Lawyer Edmond Kombat.
