🏔️ Epic Adventure on Mount Elizabeth with Kitimat Experiences! 🌄

What an incredible weekend! 😃 Our group of 9 & 1 Pup embarked on a thrilling 46.8-hour hiking adventure up Mount Elizabeth, and it was nothing short of incredible! 🥾✨

We kicked off our journey bright and early at 8 AM on Saturday morning, filled with excitement and anticipation. As we met & dropped off our vehicles and loaded up into a truck & Jeep with all of our gear, we couldn’t help but be really excited about our epic and treacherous hike ahead of us. Our packs weighed between 25 and 40 pounds! Mine was the 40 pound pack. Around halfway up, we discovered a serene meadow field with ponds where we decided to set up camp for the night. With tents pitched and dinner shared, it was a perfect way to recharge and bond with our fellow adventurers.

Recognizing the importance of rest, we hit the hay by 9:30 PM, ensuring we had ample energy for the early morning ahead. The next day, we were up bright eyed, and bushy tailed at 5:30 AM & watched the sunrise. We then eagerly began our ascent from basecamp at 7:48 AM. The trail challenged us, but our determination pushed us forward. At 9:40 AM, we conquered the summit of Little Elizabeth, and the feeling of accomplishment was indescribable! 🙌

But we didn't stop there! With renewed vigor, we continued up to the peak of big Elizabeth, reaching it at 11:13 AM. The view from the top was absolutely awe-inspiring, & truly felt like you’re on top of the world, making every step worth it. Along the way, we stumbled upon a refreshing freshwater stream that replenished our hydration packs, providing a much-needed boost. 💧

After an exhilarating seven-hour journey up and down from our base camp, we packed up our belongings and began our descent. It took us about 2.5 hrs to make it back to the Jeep, reminiscing about the incredible moments we had shared. We were in pure agony by this point but the amount of laughs and inside jokes we shared down the hill, kept us going. 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Of course, no adventure is complete without a few unexpected encounters! We encountered a total of seven wasp, hornet, and bee nests & unfortunately, I got stung. I took one for the team. But even in those challenging moments, we stuck together and supported one another, showcasing the true spirit of camaraderie.
