I've been drumming for over 35 years and have worked with Siouxsie Sioux, Peter Gabriel, Simple Minds to name a few, and one of the reasons I started playing music to begin with was Gary Numan.
The other day I stumbled across a YouTube interview with the drummer Cedric Sharpley who played drums in Garys band from 1979 to 1992. This included the glory years from 1979 to 1981 when Gary was one of the biggest pop stars in the world, introducing a new synth pop sound that influenced everyone from Prince to Nine inch Nails. Unfortunately Cedric passed away in 2012 but I felt that I would like to do this video as a thank you for the great grooves and inspiration that he gave me as a young upcoming drummer.
