Nextlix launched Argentine dubbing in Rioplatense Spanish in 2021 to replace neutral Spanish. But this option was not well received by the Argentine audience on Twitter and other social networks. Today you can still watch movies and series on Netflix with Argentine dubbing (in this video I tell you how to watch them), but this option is no longer included in new releases. We are going to see a selection of scenes from movies in English dubbed into Rioplatense using local slang and idioms, learn curiosities about dubbing, explain what neutral Spanish is, and ask ourselves why our own way of speaking on screen bothers us?
