Katipunan is based on the life of Philippine national hero Gat. Andres Bonifacio and the founding of the revolutionary society "The Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga anak ng Bayan" or more popularly known as the "Katipunan". Andres Bonifacio is known as the father of the Philippine revolution that led to the country's independence against spanish colonial rule.
