Sarah Johnson has been writing, teaching, nagging, and gently urging the design teams she’s worked on to adopt a content-first approach ever since Jeffrey Zeldman, of A List Apart, first threw the gauntlet down in 2011. Now she’d like to do some convincing on you as she covers these topics:
Why a content-first approach makes business and design sense
The 8 steps to content-first design
The pitfalls of doing user testing with dummy text
What is conversation mapping and how does it build empathy?
How to advocate for a content-first approach in your organization
Where to go to learn more

As we were just saying at our stand-up meeting the other day, “Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, ius ne dicit oblique neglegentur, right?” Allow us to translate: “You shouldn’t just wait till the last minute to put the real copy into a website, app, or some other digital product, right?” Just as the concept of mobile-first has helped designers prioritize their work, a content-first approach does the same thing for the entire team. When you start from the beginning with actual content, your prototypes and user tests are more accurate, and your chances for success go way up. It just makes sense, does it not? You know, ut aliquid ex ea commodi consequatur?
