This is my own method of tying an Aussie style fall hitch. I do it slightly different from most other whipmakers, and I explain why in this video. It's a blend of different styles that I've learned and tweaked throughout the years.
Okay... I know it's a bit long, but I'm hoping that the additional information to justify my techniques will help other aspiring whipmakers to understand the reasoning behind what they're doing. In no way am I implying that my method is the best. In the words of Whipmaker Rhett Kelley, "do what works for you."
I also challenge new whipmakers to try and experiment. Most of what I know about making whips was learned that way, and I'm still learning new things every time I work on a new one.
