In this class we explore balance work by learning a movement called a frappe, we also work on a West African dance called Sinte. Find a space to dance and let's move!
________

The activities range from ballet, jazz, modern, musical theater, tap, improvisation, ballroom, and more to engage the participants’ minds and bodies. All activities are designed to be done either seated or standing. We encourage you to modify or adapt any of the movements. Always listen to your body and adjust the movement so it feels right to you.

All our activities are designed for anyone living with movement or neurological concerns such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, stroke survivors, Cerebral Palsy, osteoporosis, arthritis, and more, however, anyone can participate. The movements are designed to address common concerns such as balance, flexibility, gate, and coordination. Though the activities are designed for individuals who may have mobility concerns, you should not attempt to do any of the suggested activities unless you can do so SAFELY. If you are in doubt, please contact your physician for guidance. If at any time during this activity you feel any pain or feel dizziness, stop immediately. If such pain or dizziness persists, contact your healthcare provider.

A sturdy chair without arms will allow for a larger range of motion. Please be sure that your area is free of obstacles such as tables, rugs, pets, etc. Allow enough room for your legs and arms to move freely.
