We’re back in Baja Sur!! This time-full stop destination: Playa el Requeson (and Bahía de Los Angeles) !! Last summer we took our first big road trip from Los Angeles, to Baja Sur’s famous beach Playa Balandra and we happened to stop in Playa El Requeson for only an hour break from our drive. This is a pretty popular beach that many travelers rave about, and initially we chose not to stay there for fear it might be too “touristy”. HOWEVER even from just one quick stop, it made such a strong impression on us; we knew we had to come back and stay for at least a few nights.

…and that we did. And it did not disappoint! We stayed towards the middle in a Palapa (which is like a cabana) for 200 pesos (~$11 US dollars) a night. While we did notice many visitors in the daytime peak (especially over the weekend), we were also really surprised at how calm and silent it got when people left. After 5 days and 4 nights it already began to feel like home. We got to see the beautiful sunrises and sunsets and observe the sounds of the native wildlife. We crossed the shallow waters to the “half island” and there was a really cool hiking trail that takes you around.
Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay longer!

Also in this video we include our stop back up the coast to what’s quickly becoming a regular favorite spot; Bahía de Los Angeles. This bay is located in Baja California Norte and while it is a few hours east off the main highway- it really is a nice place to be. Especially because we like camping at Campo Archelon which is an ecological gem for both conservation and exploring wildlife. ( See link to that video below).
