Here's quick, fun project where I'll take you through the steps of making a medieval style shield from pallet wood. This will be a little different from my usual projects, if you're expecting a lot of forging this is NOT the video. Instead I'm going a different direction and building shield from (mostly) wood scraps to go with the battle axe we made last week.
Is this a viking shield? Medieval shield? Fantasy shield? You decide!
Tools include: angle grinder, belt sander, metal file, blow torch, spray paint, craftsman jigsaw and more. When we're done we'll have fully functional shield--may be a little light for actual medieval warfare, but it's definitely not a toy...er...maybe kind of toy. But still quite sturdy.
This is the type of build that might be useful for a Halloween costume party or maybe a short video project or just for fun in the backyard.
Follow along and make this shield, or just watch and enjoy the show. Either way, thanks for joining me and I hope you have a wonderful day. Cheers!
