Happy Halloween! This year, many of us are spending our Halloween at home. But don’t you worry! You can still absolutely celebrate the holiday and feel like you didn’t miss out on anything just by getting a little creative. I have two recipes listed below for some tasty treats, as well as a terrific mask that works for most skin types. Let me know if you have any questions at all!

Mini Jack O lantern Pies 🎃:

What I did:
-Preheat oven 400 degrees
-Cut out circles to line cupcake pan, freeze then bake for 10 min
-Cut out smaller circles, carve jack o lantern faces, freeze
-Mix together
* 1/4 cup granulated sugar
* 1/4 cup + 1 Tbsp dark or light brown soft sugar
* 1 large eggs + yolk save white
* Half of 1 15oz can pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
* 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch
* 1/2 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice- I added extra nutmeg and ginger
* 1/2 cup heavy cream
* 1/2 cup milk
* Teaspoon vanilla
-Fill cooled cups with filling
-Bake for 25 min
-Put faces in, brush with egg white mixed with a dash cream and bake for 8 min at 400 degrees
-Put the faces on your mini pies!

Pear mummies 🍐:

What I did:
-Take 4 pears and peal em
-4 mandarins and zest em
-Bring to a boil:
1 1/2 cup water
1 3/4 cup wine
1 cup sugar
-Boil for 3 minutes then put your pears in
-Bring back to boil then simmer for an hour, I covered mine
-Take pears out to cool, reduce the syrup until thick
-Roll out pastry cut into strips
-Preheat oven 400
-Coat pears with leftover wine syrup, wrap them up like a mummy, leaving eye space, then egg wash them
-Bake for 25 30 min
-When mostly cool put chock chips as eyes (optional)
-Pour syrup over top of it all!

Pumpkin Face Mask
* 2 tablespoons fresh pumpkin puree
* 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
* 1 teaspoon raw honey
* 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
