After a lengthy battle, Orkambi has finally been listed on the Australian pharmaceutical benefits scheme.

Whilst this is not a cure for CF, it is first advancement in treatment available for Cystic Fibrosis sufferers.

In order to gain access, you must be eligible.
This includes first hand foremost having a double delta 508 gene.
If you do not have this, you will not be eligible.
If you do, there is a range of boxes to be ticked to ensure you are eligible for Orkambi.

I am so excited for my Orkambi to begin.

My lung function prior to starting Orkambi is:

FEV1 84%
FVC 101 %

I am so excited at the thought of an improved quality of life.
CF is equivalent to a full time job, with many hours of overtime.
It is an invisible illness.

So, in sharing my Orkambi journey I am hoping this can make a positive impact within our CF Community!
