I did this video for my own reference and documentation. If it helps you, great! Since I don't make molds every day, I wanted some methodology to start with for any new mold I was working on.

Designing a mold as a core/cavity style rather than just splitting the part with a constant parting line, gives you a lot more options to mill smaller details into a mold that would otherwise be difficult to access.

I use a Medium Machinery injection molding machine. The word precise does not fit in any description of this machine. The shot size is based on feel such as listening to the ram and watching for flash and shutting off the ram when you think it's ready. Takes some trial and error, but with some mold features such as vents that help control where the flash goes and an expectation that you will flash the mold in order to know it's filled, you can get good parts out of this machine.

Episode II contains vent and sprue design, CAM, milled mold, injection shot, and results:    • Core/cavity mold design in Fusion 360...
