Pheromone traps baited with sex pheromones are a valuable tool for monitoring insect pest populations in pest surveys and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs. In this video, North Dakota State University Extension Entomologist, Dr. Jan Knodel, will demonstrate the proper use of pheromone lures, trap placement and handling, and how to record trap data. We use banded sunflower moth in sunflower and the bertha armyworm in canola as examples.
