In today's video, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim discusses the health benefits and uses of rasont (berberis aristata) in Ayurveda as well as its dosage, and side effects (rasont ke fayde).

Rasont is a plant that comes from India and Nepal. The name means "red roots". It's also known as berberis aristata, Indian Barberry, red berry, chutro, sumbal, or tree turmeric that grows in cold climates (rasont kya hai).

RasontΒ has a long history of use in Indian medicine, where it is used to treat eye infections as well as bacterial, periodic, diarrheal, and cancerous conditions. Ayurveda makes extensive use of this plant's root, stem, and leaves in the treatment of numerous diseases (rasont khane ke fayde).

Berberine (Rasont) consumption may be beneficial in the treatment of depression, cancer, infections, fatty liver, and heart failure. It also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties (daru haldi ke fayde).

Side Effects of Rasont:
Berberine has an excellent safety profile in general. The most common side effects are digestive-related, with reports of cramping, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, and stomach pain.

If you have a medical condition or are taking medication, you should consult your doctor before taking it.

This is especially important if you are taking blood sugar-lowering medication.
