Growing your business from £100,000 to a million might sound scary. I want to tell you about using a simple tool, a dashboard, that can make things less stressful. I've used this tool to help grow businesses beyond a million in sales.

The Importance of a Dashboard
Without a dashboard, it's like you're fishing in the dark for numbers and info. You might get surprised by problems and start worrying about sales, if everyone's happy, or if there's enough money. With a good dashboard, everything you need to know is right there. It tells you if things are good, okay, or if there's a problem, so you can relax more.

Components of an Effective Dashboard

1. Red Issues
This is where you put big problems that need fast action, like a serious complaint or a big unexpected bill. It keeps these important things in front of you so you don't forget to deal with them.

2. Average Experience Score
You ask customers how happy they are with what you do, using a score from 1 to 10. High scores mean they're really happy. Lower scores mean you need to check what's wrong.

3. Churn Rate
This is about noticing how many customers stop using your service. You want this number to be small. If it's getting bigger, you need to figure out why and fix it.

4. LAPS Numbers (Leads, Appointments, Presentations, Sales)
You keep track of new people interested in what you do, meetings set up, talks given about your services, and how many actually buy. It's about making sure there's a steady flow of new business.

5. Cost Per Lead
This tells you how much you're spending to get people interested in what you do. If it's too much, it could be eating into your profits.

6. Cash at Bank
A clear look at how much money you have. If it's going down, you need to find out why. Having enough money means your business can keep running.

7. Expected Cash In/Out
You guess how much money you'll make and spend in the next 12 weeks. It's not always fun to look at because expenses are easier to predict than income, but it helps you plan.

Conclusion

Having a dashboard makes growing your business less scary. It's like having a map that shows you everything at a glance. You don't have to use fancy tools; even a simple spreadsheet can do the job. It's about making sure you can enjoy your weekends knowing your business is okay. This tool helps a lot when your business is growing fast.
