Learn all about Metering Modes in your Camera and how to choose the right Metering mode to get the exposure right in your Photographs.

All the cameras have inbuilt light meters to measure the intensity of the reflected light from the subject falling on the image sensors. These light meters are calibrated and standardized for mid-tone or 18% grey brightness. This means that the camera will give correct exposure if the scene or the subject contains mostly the mid-tones.

Most of the cameras have,
Evaluative/matrix/multi metering mode,
Center-weighted average metering mode,
Partial metering mode and
Spot metering mode.

I have explained the above exposure metering modes in detail. Try using them effectively in the process of creating a photograph.
