Telangana is blessed with mighty perennial rivers like Godavari and Krishna. Other rivers such as Penganga, Pranahita, Maneru, Bhima, Manjeera etc also provide drinking water and irrigation facilities.

odavari is the longest river in the Telangana state with a length of 1465 km. It flows through Nizamabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam in Telangana.

The MEIL has an inseparable bond with the river Godavari. It has built up the numerous Irrigation projects across the river Godavari for the welfare of society and progress of the Nation.

Every year thousands of TMCs flood water flows into the sea from the Godavari river. To tap this flood water and to provide water for irrigation, drinking and industrial purposes, the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) was started.

MEIL is the major partner in the execution of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, which is world’s largest multi-stage Lift Irrigation scheme.
