I handed back the keys to the Seat Leon FR and picked up the keys to the MK8 Golf so this is a pure back to back test. The most expensive option of the two, the Golf is still the car that so many people aspire to own so with that in mind, is this brand new version as desirable as ever?

This 1.5 eTSI petrol with 150bhp will be put through its paces on roads around Dublin in a city environment that reflects how so many of these cars will spend their lives.

I'll show you around the interior, explain the new touchscreen technology inside the cabin and compare how the Golf handles in relation to the Leon as the Golf has multi link rear suspension in models with 150bhp and above.
