I recently tried to recreate the "Crazy Horse" shot from Zack Snyder's 300 using two cameras, a Sony FX3 and a Sony ZV-E1. I shot at 120 frames per second on the FX3 and 240 frames per second on the ZV-E1. I used different focal lengths on each camera to create a morph zoom effect. I was able to get some cool results, but I definitely didn't nail it as well as Snyder did. I think the best way to use this technique would be for wedding videography, real estate, or shooting sports cars. I also think it would be cool to try it with a more dramatic scene.
Here are some of the challenges I faced:
-It was difficult to set up the shot and match the exposure on both cameras.
-I had to use manual focus for some takes, which was tricky.
-The ZV-E1 overheated after about 40 minutes of continuous shooting.
-Overall, I'm happy with the results I was able to get, but I think there's still room for improvement. I would like to try this technique again with a more powerful camera that doesn't overheat as easily. -I would also like to try it with a more dramatic scene.
