Like many other first responders, Matthew Fiorenza had found the enormity of his traumatic experiences while on the job to be more than he could bear. However, unlike many of his fellow heroes, Matthew decided that suffering in silence was not the way to go, so he made an effort to look into life changes to get his mental health under better control. These efforts led him to the Chang Your Brain Foundation and Amen Clinics, where he got a brain SPECT scan to see how his past traumas had manifested. Dr. Jay Faber explains Matthew's brain SPECT scans, and why it was important for Matthew to work on healing his brain and getting his hypervigilance in check. First responders are our real-life heroes, and at Change Your Brain Foundation we know how important it is to help them overcome their unique brain health challenges.
