নায়ক ওয়াসিম আসল নাম মেজবাহউদ্দীন আহমেদ । ১৯৪৭ সালের ২৩ মার্চ, চাঁদপুর জেলায়, এক সম্ভ্রান্ত মুসলিম পরিবারে জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে ইতিহাসে এম.এ ডিগ্রী সম্পন্ন করেন। ছাত্রাবস্থায় 'বডি বিল্ডিার' হিসেবে বেশ নাম করেছিলেন। ১৯৬৪ সালে, বডি বিল্ডিং এর জন্য 'মিঃ ইস্ট পাকিস্তান' খেতাব-এ ভূষিত হয়েছিলেন ওয়াসিম। চিত্রপরিচালক এস এম শফি পরিচালিত ১৯৭২ সালে মুক্তিপ্রাপ্ত 'ছন্দ হারিয়ে গেল' ছবিতে সহকারী পরিচালক হিসেবে ঢাকার চলচ্চিত্রজগতে আসেন ওয়াসিম। এই ছবির ছোট্ট একটি দৃশ্যে অভিনয়ও করেন তিনি। নায়ক হিসেবে তাঁর প্রথম ছবি মহসিন পরিচালিত ১৯৭৩ সালে মুক্তিপায় 'রাতের পর দিন'। এই ছবিতে তাঁর নায়িকা ছিলেন ববিতা। এরপর একের পর এক অভিনয় করে গেছেন, সব বাণিজ্যসফল চলচ্চিত্রে। একটানা অসংখ্য সুপার হিট' চলচ্চিত্র উপহার দিয়েছেন তিনি। তখনকার সময়ে, অ্যাকশন ও ফোক-ফ্যান্টাসী ছবির অপ্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী নায়ক ছিলেন ওয়াসিম ।
Nayak Wasim - A Report
Nayak Wasim's real name is Mezbahuddin Ahmed. Born on March 23, 1947, in Chandpur district, in a noble Muslim family. He completed MA degree in History from Dhaka University. He made a name for himself as a 'body builder' in his student days. In 1964, Wasim was awarded the title of 'Mr East Pakistan' for bodybuilding.Wasim entered the Dhaka film industry as an assistant director in the film 'Chhand Hare Gele' released in 1972 directed by director SM Shafi. He also acted in a small scene of this film. His first film as a hero was 'Raat Par Din' released in 1973 directed by Mohsin. Babita was her heroine in this film.Then acted one after another, all commercially successful films. He has given numerous super hit films. At that time, Wasim was the undisputed hero of action and folk-fantasy films.
