Here I restore an old Swedish broad axe (hewing axe). I also make an axe leather sheath.
This axe has a scissor grind which is good for hewing logs. Hewing logs means to square wood from round logs.
I hung this axe with a birch handle that I carved from a piece of wood I found on the wood pile.
This is an axe from Finspångs bruk, one of the oldest in Sweden. This axe could easily be 100 years old and it have a very good steel.
