The route is straightforward until 4.4 mile point on the Alltrails map linked above.
I wanted to avoid the Snake Dike Approach route as it's steeper. But I followed the cairns for the route by mistake. You can see that I took the different route for going up and going down. The route for going down was the intended route.
About a mile from 4.4 mile point is the steepest and difficult to navigate part. Keep an eye out for the cairns. There are plenty to guide you along the way. Once the diving board is on sight, head to the right side closer to Half Dome as this side is higher and offer a better view than the left.
