Feces are golds in desert! Dung beetles are popular in Souvenirs entomologiques.
In ancient Egypt, they were worshiped as scarab gods. Here we were at Sam sand dunes, Rajasthan, India. As camel left feces on the ground, numbers of dung beetles flew in from nowhere and gathered around the dung. They cut and rolled it along in a ball.
On the way to their holes, others came to snatch and began a fight! The bigger the ball, the more female beetles got attracted. And they put the ball into the hole which the male made…
