Start with an 8x8 board. When I make a 4, the board shrinks to 7x7, and my goal is to make an 8. When I make the 8, the board shrinks to 6x6, and my goal is to make a 16, etc.

Not the most exciting challenge as it is almost guaranteed to end with needing to make a 256 on a 2x2 board.
