Medical gaslighting is when doctors try and fob off patients by suggesting that their symptoms are not important, relevant, worthy of investigation or even real. Doctors who are protocol/guideline driven often become so self absorbed that they are unwilling and unlikely to even ackmowledge the legitimacy of symptoms which don't fit in a well-defined 'box'.
