Hello, todday's tour is in Wernigerode, a stunning medieval town in the Harz region in Germany. The town situated on the Holtemme river, on the northern slopes of the Harz Mountains. It is close to the Brocken mountain (1141 m), the highest peak in the Harz Mountains. We will walk through streets full of charming medieval timber-framed houses and we will see the town hall (Rathaus), which was built in 1420, and it is one of the most significant pieces of architecture in Wernigerode. We will walk through the old town, passing the narrow streets and wonderful buildings and colorful houses. Then we will walk up to the Wernigerode Castle on the top of the town with great view of Wernigerode and the surrounding Harz mountains.
