Simon Mitchell was the inaugural Head Coach of the South East Melbourne Phoenix NBL club, leading them to two finals campaigns in his four years. Mitchell joined the club from Melbourne United where he was an assistant coach for four years helping them to a Championship in 2018. Mitchell is no stranger to the EDJBA as he grew up in Watsonia and played junior basketball in the EDJBA.
