We travel up to Loughborough from Southend-on-Sea in Essex, to visit the unigue double track railway of The Great Central Railway. This is a Heritage Railway with a difference to say the least. Join us as my family and I emmerce ourselves in the culture of 1966, a time of change for the Railways and of course ENGLAND'S WORLD CUP WIN. At least 10 LOCOMOTIVES on show, 5 STEAM ENGINES and 5 DIESELS hauling freight and carrying passengers, not to mention all the vintage cars, buses and trucks. THIS WAS A GREAT DAY OUT.
