I solo camped at Ballintoy, after hiking the Causeway Coast Way from Portballintrae. It was meant to be a pilgrimage or sorts to help process things in my head and heart, but it also turned out to be a bit more of an adventure than I had anticipated, from nearly getting pinned on the rocks by the incoming tide, then forced by the tide to camp at a spot I hadn't planned, then realising I had forgotten my stove, having to cold soak my food for the first time, and then just as the sun went down, realising I did not have my tent poles, and that they had probably got washed out to sea 🙈
