Ibn Haitsam, the first person to discover also wrote data about light. One of his works is the book of al-Manazir. The book that first explained the optical theory.
To explore the nature of light and vision, this book was later translated into Latin by F Risner and published in Basle in 1527 AD under the title Opticae Thesaurus. This work along with other optical works greatly influenced medieval scientists. Like, Roger Bacon, Johannes Keppler, and Pol Witello. This was the beginning of the inspiration for making microscopes and telescopes in the western world.

Ibn Haitsam was also the first person to be able to explain the mechanism of human vision in detail, his theory of eye treatment is still used today in various universities throughout the world.

According to Ibn Haitsam, the light of dawn began when the sun was on the 19 degree line in the eastern horizon. The red color at dusk, will disappear if the sun is on the line 19 degrees west horizon. In his studies, he has also succeeded in producing light positions such as light refraction and light reversal.
