It's been 15 years since I first played BioWare's science fiction masterpiece Mass Effect. A lot of us naturally played Paragon our first time playing through each game, but with the release of the Legendary Edition remaster I've wanted to go back through the trilogy again with a specific theme in mind:

What if Commander Shepard became a ruthless, xenophobic renegade that endeavored to save the galaxy solely for humanity?

In this Mass Effect playthrough I use an all-human squad and ignore all alien companions and side-quests. Humans First Renegade gameplay means I will only roleplay Paragon options when Human lives are at stake, choosing Renegade options with non-humans. Hardcore difficulty with pistol primary and tech abilities as an Engineer class. I play with an M575 trackball.

I've reimagined Commander Shepard as a more nuanced main character by not just playing straight Paragon or only Renegade, but a mix of both depending on the circumstances of this Humans First theme. As I played the game I found that I could do more to tell the story by editing the gameplay in a style that's more like watching a bingeable episodic series. If anything, this is more of a performance of the story we all know and love with a particular attention to detail. I hope you will enjoy watching as much as I had producing this series.
