This season of Succession has cemented my love for the show. I wanted to express why I like the show in a spoiler-free way for the people that have their doubts about watching the show. The first part of this video essay is (somewhat) spoiler free. I will show footage from the first 8 episodes and refer to some of the dynamics that are also in play in the later seasons, but I avoided the major story events. Furthermore, I only focused on the Roy family (excluding Connor, who was interested in politics from a very young age).

At the end of this essay I discuss the current season and the implications behind the episodes that have aired so far (the latest being S4, Episode 4, because I missed the deadline by a week). Spoilers begin at 17:37!

Hope you enjoy!

Segments:
Intro 0:00
Succession 1:59
The Children 3:45
The Father 7:57
The Power 12:19
Season 4 Discussion (spoilers) 17:37
