Exploring Authentic Saudi Arabian Cuisine in Riyadh with Chef Hisham Baeshan
Join us on an incredible culinary journey through Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as we delve into the rich and diverse flavors of authentic Saudi Arabian dishes with the talented Chef Hisham Baeshani. A huge thank you to the amazing Flynas for making this unforgettable trip possible
Our adventure begins with Shrimp Kuoja soup, a delightful dish from Madina. Made with a traditional herb that imparts a lemony taste, this soup features shrimp skin and a savory tomato sauce.
Next up is the beloved sambosa. This popular snack is best enjoyed by taking a bite and dipping it into a variety of sauces, including tangy tamarind sauce and spicy Hejazi chili sauce—truly a treat for the taste buds!
We then savor Batatas Hawari, a delicious street food favorite. These potatoes are slow-cooked, then deep-fried and served with seven different sauces like green chili, hot sauce, garlic sauce, or classic ketchup, and topped with fresh arugula.
To refresh our palates, we enjoy a cold drink made from pomegranate juice, a local favorite that's both revitalizing and flavorful.
Our culinary journey continues with jareesh, a hearty main course made from wheat, buttermilk, and stuffed onion. Finally, we relish Saudi kebab, perfectly seasoned with onions and topped with a squeeze of fresh lemon.
This was one of the best culinary experiences I ever had in Riyadh, crafted for me by Chef Hisham Baeshen.
