But in the modern NBA, the table can easily be flipped even if you have a superteam.

Whether by injuries, a bad performance, play, or shot by your team’s superstar, or even superstars. (Emphasize superstars)

So when a contending team gets there, they have to make it count…

Or they will simply get on a plane to Cancun and wish things played out a little differently.

Larry Bird knows this very well, because in 1987 after an ULTRA hot performance he missed a crucial 3 to win game 4 against the Lakers…

A shot he, and everybody else, was absolutely CONVINCED would swish.
