In House of the Dragon season 2 episode 5, Aemond Targaryen will take over the rule in Aegon Targaryen’s stead while Aegon is recovering. Although Aegon and his dragon Sunfyre survived dragonfire, Aegon is left incapable of ruling due to his severe injuries. So, in season 2 episode 5 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, Prince Aemond Targaryen will take over the rule in his stead from the Iron Throne as Prince Regent and Protector of the Realm. Larys will tell Aegon, “You have already written yourself into legend; you survived dragonfire.” Daemon Targaryen will lead the taking of Stone Hedge on his dragon Caraxes. Rhaenys Targaryen’s dragon Meleys' head will be paraded through King’s Landing by Criston Cole, which will incite a massive riot. Corlys Velaryon will become Hand of the Queen to Rhaenyra. Addam will claim the dragon Seasmoke, and he will meet Rhaenyra. The Hightowers will march into war. Daemon will continue having a haunting time at Harrenhal. Mysaria will orchestrate a smallfolk riot in King’s Landing by sending Rhaenyra’s good friend to tamper with the capital’s food supplies. Jacaerys will fly to House Frey’s seat for negotiations, and Alicent Hightower will have a fight with Aemond over his actions.

That’s a complete House of the Dragon season 2 episode 5 preview, accompanied by all the leaked scenes and information we have for that episode.
