Betrayed partners are usually the ones staying up all night googling, then consuming, every piece of content that’s ever been written about affairs, detached cheating and/or porn addiction. Whatever their betrayal is from.

And after they’re done, they go back and start over with all the new phrases and keywords they learned from the first search.

While the betrayed partner is stuck in Googleland, their spouses, the ones who caused this disaster in the first place, are usually sound asleep in the next room.

It’s a horrific cycle.

If you are trying to reconcile, this imbalance will never work.

Both people must do the work.

Both people need to take care of their individual selves: the betrayed needs to understand and heal from the trauma, and the betrayer must go to his/her core to figure out the WHY and gain an understanding of betrayal trauma.

There are no shortcuts.

There are no easy paths.

It takes hard work from two people who are both committed to doing the hard work. And if your spouse is not all in, it might be time to start a new Google search.
