Psilocybin mushrooms, or magic mushrooms, cause a psychedelic high when ingested but police are warning not all magic mushrooms are created equal and the dangers can be terrifying.

Nannup Police are working to educate people who come to search for the wild growing mushrooms on the outskirts of their town in Western Australia’s South West region.

Sergeant Al McNevin says the time spent stopping people picking the fungi prevents the tiny town from bearing the brunt of the highs that go wrong.
