today, I had to do a little bit of redneck engineering.
the problem? well. no, seriously, it was my well. unfortunately, the water in the house just STOPPED.
time for some troubleshooting, starting with the easiest thing first, the circuit breaker, good. continuing the troubleshooting until... the pump needs to come out of the ground. NOOOOOOOOO.....

upon removal of the pump, something was different from last time I had to pull this pump. it didn't want to come out. it felt like it was stuck in mud.

well, sand, but that is still not good.
I ended up having to clean the sand out to get my well back up and serviceable, and that brings us to this video, of how to clean out a water well.
