I'm Building My Own App with AI (and You Should Too!)

*00:02* Hair treatment woes aside, today's video is about creating apps... specifically, how to find the perfect app for your needs. Now, I've been on a smartphone detox lately, inspired by books like "Deep Work" and the "move your ass" mentality of David Goggins. After all, everyone's different, and a one-size-fits-all approach rarely works.

*01:00* Take me, for example. I wake up at 5 am to care for my baby before my wife starts her day. Between juggling baby duties, workouts, meditation, breakfast, and my morning routine, there's a lot going on. Plus, I'm constantly learning new things, which means even more information crammed into my already busy brain.

*01:57* Forgetting things is inevitable, but forgetting a great idea or neglecting a task isn't ideal. That's why I avoid using reminder apps with intrusive notifications or expensive premium features.

*02:24* Enter the controversial world of artificial intelligence! Did you know you can create apps using AI, from web to Android, with tools like GitHub's Co-Pilot (powered by ChatGPT)? Sure, there's debate, but I say, "Who cares?" I need something that works for me, and I'm willing to explore.

*03:32* So, my plan is to create my own app, using free AI tools like ChatGPT or Gemini. I'll document the entire process – a live workflow – and share it on YouTube and Twitter. My goals are:

*Understand the app creation ecosystem*
*Demystify how apps work*
*Build a personalized app for myself*
*Become a better AI prompter*

*05:00* This fast-paced world demands constant learning. While some worry about AI replacing programmers, I believe new jobs will emerge. HTML, CSS, Python, C++, C# – these skills are still valuable, but they're no longer gatekeepers. Just like self-publishing revolutionized books, coding is becoming more accessible.

*05:51* Learning to code isn't just about getting a job; it's about empowering yourself. It's like understanding basic car mechanics – even if you take your car to the garage, knowing the basics allows you to participate in the process and form your own opinions.

*06:51* In the future, understanding what's happening behind the scenes will be crucial. It's the same principle as fixing a car or self-publishing a book. You don't have to be an expert, but basic knowledge empowers you.

*07:45* So, here's the gist: I'm building my own app to learn, improve my web design skills, and create a portfolio showcase. It's a win-win, and I encourage you to do the same! Go learn, create, make something – even if it's "shit." It's yours, it works, and that's all that matters.

*08:42* Remember, we often associate value with price tags. But overcome that bias, and you'll be unstoppable. Take care! #motivation #newparent #buildyourown
