If you're wondering where to bring kids fishing in the Greater Toronto Area, give this place a try. I don't normally name fishing spots online, but I also need to appreciate that getting kids into fishing is important for the future of our resources and it can be a frustrating for a parent if you aren't experienced. This spot is no "secret". It's local to the GTA, has great features for family activities, and it still takes some skill and practice to catch fish here from shore.

This summer I fished a lake near Orangeville Ontario that I used to fish as a kid, Island Lake Conservation Area with a friend, Adrian who also has a YouTube channel (True North Angler). I've also been busy with the kids exploring all the wildlife around us and thought for a change of pace I would include some of our exploration into this video. One of the cooler things we've done is install a security camera in a bird nesting box. I'm looking forward to spring to see if any birds actually nest in it. Stay tuned for updates in the spring, as I'm hoping to get some great bird nesting footage too.
