The Aeronautical Museum Rothenburg offers all interested in aviation and technology but also all those who are simply curious about the adventure aviation, a comprehensive insight into the world of aviation.

Visitors can even take a seat in a MiG-21 or in a helicopter. It is also possible to be photographed in these aircraft. Several planes are equipped with visitor steps, so that a look into the cabin can be thrown. In the outdoor area, you can experience up close to over 15 aircraft and helicopters from the second half of the last century. The collection includes the main aircraft of the East such as several MiG's, a Suhoi Su-22 and Czech jet trainer but also Bundeswehr aircraft such as the F-104 Starfighter or an OV-10 "Bronco". The museum has an extensive collection of jet engines from East and West - partly as a sectional model and thus particularly vivid. The museum also showcases vehicles and other safety equipment required to operate and maintain the airfield.

The Aeronautical Museum Association Rothenburg e.V., founded in 1992, aims to foster and impart aviation knowledge. The club is responsible for:
- the collection and exhibition of historical technology
- expert guides and explanations for the visitors of the museum
- the youth work in the context of an AG at the vocational high school Görlitz for the profile aerospace engineering and of project days in the museum for pupils of surrounding schools.
