The Wars of the Roses in 1471 led to the Lancastrian cause collapsing after the Battle of Tewkesbury, securing the crown for Edward IV of York. Although Edward IV was a charismatic ruler, the uprisings did not quiet, including Margaret of Anjou's attempts to regain power. Soon, the notorious Richard III's path to the throne involved political maneuvering, suspicion, and the mysterious disappearance of the young Prince Edward V and his brother, leading to Richard III's ascension. Henry Tudor eventually defeated Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485, ending the Wars of the Roses and giving rise to the Tudor Dynasty.
