Headed for an uncertain and ultimately tragic future, the venerable RMS Queen Elizabeth sailed out of New York Harbor in 1968 without fanfare, fireboats, or fly-over salutations. At least an amateur filmmaker found the event worthy of documenting. Really reminds you how for a long time the greatest ocean liners were the heartbeat of the greatest city.
