It's always a great day in the shop when Jason Isbell stops by, and it's even sweeter when we get hear him play guitars from the greatest collection of archtop guitars that have ever been created.

The world renowned “Blue Guitar Collection” is presented for sale through Rudy’s Music Soho. Each of the magnificent guitars in the collection was commissioned by esteemed guitar collector, the late Scott Chinery, to the most prestigious archtop guitar luthiers of the time. The collection was inspired by Jimmy D’Aquisto’s blue Centura Deluxe, that was commissioned by Chinery, and would ultimately wind up as the first guitar built in his “Blue Guitar Collection. After D’Aquisto’s death in 1995, Chinery asked twenty-two of the world’s premier archtop luthiers to each build a guitar in tribute to D’Aquisto. The builders were encouraged to follow their own muse, however, there were two rules; the guitar had to be an 18 inch archtop and it had to be the exact same shade of blue D’Aquisto used for his Blue Centura Deluxe.
