The Oilers recently made their annual trip to Carolina to play the Hurricanes. Playing in Carolina will always spark a wide variety of emotions among many Oilers fans. On one hand, losing to the Hurricanes in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final after a magical playoff run was incredibly heartbreaking, but on the other hand, it’s fun to dive into the nostalgia around that gritty, underdog team that was patched together on the fly.

Let’s take a look back at the players who were a part of the Oilers’ 2006 playoff run, how they team acquired them, and where they wound up.
