"Why is Express Entry PNP processing time different from Express Entry CEC?
Some people believe that a PNP should still have a six-month processing timeline after you get a PNP. Express Entry processing times are the same or similar just because it's a CEC or a PNP. It does not matter at this point or earlier; they were processing CEC applications faster because those individuals were inside Canada. That allowed them to complete the validation or verification of their work experience faster, and the requirement of PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) was also not there because they did not need local police clearance in Canada. That helped them process those applications faster.
Okay, even if you get a nomination, you are still either a Canadian Experience Class (CEC), a Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), or a Federal Skilled Trade category. These are the only three programs that are there in Express Entry. So, PNP is not a different stream. You would see a CEC stream processing time even if you're a PNP but a CEC. You could see that kind of processing time if you're a PNP and a Federal Skilled Worker.
But at this point in time, as far as IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) is concerned, generically, whether you are CEC PNP or FSW, we are looking to process the applications on an average processing time of six months and below. From what I see with many of our clients, I think they are on schedule for maintaining and managing their six-month processing time on average.
