Nigel Farage has announced that he will be standing to be elected as the MP for Clacton after taking over the leadership of Reform UK from Richard Tice. Farage had previously ruled himself out of running as an MP in the 2024 general election, saying he was focusing on getting Donald Trump elected in the United States. He has "changed his mind".

Andrew Marr joins Hannah Barnes and Freddie Hayward on the New Statesman podcast to discuss how the return of Nigel Farage to politics will impact Rishi Sunak and the Conservatives. Spoiler: badly.

The team also discuss the Lib Dems pledge for social care, and why the main two parties refuse to talk about this issue which is affecting a high proportion of the electorate.
